Writers' Guidelines
Word Count
- Each article should be approximately 500 words
- 250 word minimum
- 750 word maximum, because columns need to fit on one page
- Any articles longer then 750 words will be broken into sections and appear as a series running one per month and are not guaranteed to run consecutively
Editorial content
- All articles are subject to editorial approval and put in the queue to run in the next available issue
- All editorial must be submitted typewritten or typeset, a Word document is best
- Content must be of educational value to the audience, we will not publish a salespitch style of editorial
- All articles require a release form. Other Builder/Architect publications across the nation may publish your article as well, if it is relevant to their area
- Note: any writer is welcome to extend beyond a page in any one issue; the page rate for our publication is $1,500. While we welcome the increase in article size, our readers expect and enjoy a succinct educational read on a single page, so if you step up to two pages, have it be of significant value to both you and the reader

- At the end of the article we ask you to include an italicized paragraph
- This is a small paragraph, maximum of 50 words, that identifies your contact information and company contact information
- This is included in the total word count
